JANA & JS

Jana & Js are a stencil artist duo, she is Austrian, he is French. They have been working together since 2006 and are part of the WCA collective, along with l'Artiste-ouvrier (The Working Artist), 6lex, and Marybel.
Wanderers for artistic reasons, they lived in Paris and Madrid before settling in Salzburg, Austria.
They draw inspiration from the urban environment to create their works: their artistic exploration is aimed at discovering the dynamics of the gaze in the urban environment. Their drawings depict young subjects intent on photographing, scrutinizing, and observing passersby.
The feeling you get when you stand in front of one of their murals is incredible, you are literally captured by the lenses of cameras, strictly in vintage style, or in other cases you get lost in the intense eyes of the girls portrayed.
